AI has collapsed the cost of producing content. What used to take a team and a week now takes one person and an afternoon.

That sounds like great news, and it is. But it also means the internet is flooding with average content. When everyone can publish ten posts a day, volume stops being an advantage — it becomes noise. Standing out gets harder, because “more content” is now the cheapest thing in the world.

So what still matters? Three things AI can’t manufacture.

Point of view. AI writes grammatical sentences all day, but it can’t have your opinions, your customer stories, or your scars from fifteen years in the trenches. The content that cuts through has a spine — a real take, a “here’s what everyone gets wrong,” a story only you could tell.

Distribution. Publishing is step one, not the finish line. Getting content in front of the right people — through email, search, and social — is where the leverage lives. A mediocre post you promote to the right list beats a brilliant post nobody sees. Most people spend 90% of their effort creating and 10% distributing. Flip it.

Proof. Screenshots, numbers, case studies. Real results cut through generic advice every time. Anyone can write “post consistently.” Not everyone can show the screenshot of what consistency did. Start a folder today — every good result, testimonial, before/after. That folder becomes your most persuasive content.

How to use AI without becoming noise:

  1. Use AI for the grunt work — first drafts, research, outlines, turning one post into five.
  2. Then inject you — your opinion, a client story, the specific numbers.
  3. Add proof — one screenshot beats three paragraphs of claims.
  4. Then distribute deliberately — email it, optimize it for search, slice it for social.

What AI consistently gets wrong: it hedges. “There are many factors to consider.” That’s the tell. Your job is to cut the hedge and say the true, specific, slightly-risky thing a machine won’t.

Use AI to move faster on drafts, research, and repurposing. Then inject the one thing it can’t fake: you.
